ABOUT THE ARTIST: Sherry Hunter

Thank you for taking time out to learn more about me and my art. My name is Sherry Hunter. I have been an artist all of my life. I my work is scattered throughout the United States. Besides being in personal art collections, my work has also been in exhibits & newspapers. I was a friend to Dr. Harold (Hal) Mallet - A folk art painter out of Eureka Springs, Arkansas before he passed on. I started drawing at a very young age and was primarily self taught until attending Palo Alto College in San Antonio,Texas where I studied ceramics. I list my ACEOs & other artwork under Self-Resenting Artists on Ebay under the user name of corvette1984.

Drawing comes to me like breathing. Many times I grab a pencil and listen to people talk and start creating without even knowing it. I love to draw with pen and ink. I also enjoy watercolors, color pencils, pastels, chalk, sculpture, and ceramics.

My favorite subjects are animals and mystical beings as well as sunsets.(although I create whatever whim comes to me.) I have been delighted with cats since I was a young girl. I the style of ACEO's I have worked on have been dubbed "Glitter Cats" by one of my favorite customers.They are cute Kitties doing different things and then accented with fine gold glitter paint to give it an enchanting sparkle.

I am a member of ** RESPECT - Artists Who Love Art **and also and also ACEO ~ Art Cards Editions and Originals,Art Doll Scuplture Group, as well as many others. I Love spending time with my family and pets.

My family has been through many ups and downs in the past few years. Including caring for a Grandmother who lost her battle with Lung Cancer. I cared for her 24/7 in our home along with taking care of my 2 youngest children until she passed away. I work only part time at a local Veterinary Hospital which I abosolutely love. Right now my artistic joy is creating ACEOs.

WHAT ARE ACEOs?

ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. They are small, original works of art (or limited edition prints), usually standard trading card size (2.5" x 3.5"), offered for sale by many self-representing artists here on eBay. ACEOs are a great way to collect original works of art at an affordable price! Frame them, put them in a photo album, show them off to your friends, give them as gifts...or trade them with other collectors.

They may be small, but are as beautiful as full size paintings without taking up too much space in your home, only your heart.

WHY THE USER NAME CORVETTE1984?

Several years ago my husband decided to make an eBay account. He loves the 1984 model of corvette...and so the name was made! Now I use the account to sell my art and try to make a living. (Starving Artist!)

WHAT MAKES MY ART SPECIAL?

My art is original. I do not make prints of my work. I do not mass produce work either, so to me that means my work is special. I try to use high quality paper and supplies. I also go for the unique...I have been known to accent a piece with gold or glitter accents, sometimes even Glow-in-the-dark accents! I am a well kept secret.

My ACEOs are like children to me. I like to know that they get good homes. I love my customers! I have repeat buyers and they are special to me. And if you catch me in a really good mood, sometimes I send out suprises to them for repeat business!
