I named my studio The Cosmic Whim-Wham Studio because..check this out, here is the definition of Whim Wham-- A word from around the 16th century from which the word Whimsical was derived. A whimsical decorative object or device. A fantastic creation of the brain or hand-- I could find no better description of the stuff I create!

I call myself a mix media artist simply because I express creativity in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylic, pastels, watercolor, pencil, collage, clay, plaster, metal, plastics, textiles, and wood, sometimes all at the same time! I'll mix anything with my paint to get an effect. In addition to canvas and murals, I'll make art out of anything......televisions, refrigerators, doors, windows, guitars, furniture, wheelchairs, lamps, treadmills, and one of my favorites- mannequins.

Artist Bio

D. K.  Fagan was born to British parents in California, where she grew up.  Since early childhood, (the sixties), Fagan loved bright colors, and light; the whole paisley, psychedelic, Yellow Submarine culture. This found her with a paintbrush in hand early on. Art became a natural expression of her surroundings. and still is a rich mosaic in her life.

Fagan studied art on and off for many years, formal training, as well as assisting some of her artistic mentors, (their contribution to her creative growth, she gratefully acknowledges). She has shown her pieces in various galleries, art show/festivals, and has pieces in private collections internationally. Fagan was the manager and artist in residence at The Painted Couch Gallery,that was located in the art district of downtown Las Vegas. She was also a featured artist in Jim Faraone's book- Tips From The Experts.  Fagan is also a writer, with a children's book and a mystery series in the works.  She now lives in the Southwest, where she works out of her home studio, and lives with her husband, son, an odd eyed cat named Skybluepink, a German Shepherd named Karma, and two Collies- Mojo and Elvis.
