Thank you, for taking the time to check us out! We are Country Trader, better known to our friends as Randy and Sandy Schafer. Married for 27++ years and still going strong. We have always bought and sold different things through our entire relationship. When we dated Randy thought a hot date was a night at the auction. Nothing much has changed, in fact we spent the evening our 25th anniversary at a freezing cold airport hanger at a surplus auction. Yes, later we went out for a beautiful dinner, plus our children had already given us a wonderful surprise party. Oh yeah children, we have been blessed (on most days) with 3 great children who we focus our spare time around. As the children were growing up we had a hard time finding a way to market whatever goodies we had come across, so that kind of took a back seat to parenting.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
For Christmas of 1997 we had our computer upgraded so we could go on the net. I swear the first thing Randy typed in the search column was UCTION he found eBay and the rest is history. There were times in the beginning that I gave the computer a name assandraand vowed I would name her in the divorce papers, but I have grown fond of erover time. In 1999 Randy left his sales position and took the plunge into fulltime Ebay. I have always helped out in my spare time but actually have a design consultant business that I spend with Tony the Tiger and Ernie the Elf making their offices beautiful, ergonomic and meet their business standards. I have always been involved with the art it a natural for my art and design background. But I actually woke up in the middle of the night sometime back and knew I had to make mobiles (which I had always played with since college) and beads. Well working with beads was addictive and to make a long story short I got involved with lampworking. I now only provide design services in an n callsituation and do my beads fulltime. Using the name Sandra Dillingham-Schafer illy(which I have signed my work with for over 40 years) I salute the continued support of my Dad who has always encouraged me to use the talents I was blessed with. I am having a ball and the beadmaking really fulfills my creative side and the stress level is wonderful! Check out my new website listed below!!
Randy is scouring the countryside for those great deals constantly, I am melting glass, researching his finds, writing things up and being SUPERMOM with Randy help. Our oldest daughter has decided to give up her business management background and go back to school to be a teacher. Our middle daughter has just gotten certified as a surgical technician and plans to continue going to school with a long time goal of becoming a physician. Our youngest, our son is starting his senior year in high school. We are cheerleaders for them all and we have been blessed with a great family, a wonderful business, and the freedom to enjoy them both.
To all our customers, THANK YOU for helping make our dreams come true! To our 3 kids, thank you for always being there and believing in your crazy parents. We know you get that double take when you tell your friends what your parents do. Thanks for being proud of us, We sure are proud of YOU!!!
