My quilting venture began when my best friend bought me a membership to our local quilting guild more than 15 years ago. It was a wonderful gift and the reason that I started my love for all quilts. It also made me want to get everyone involved in quilting too!
I love working with batik and it's wonderful silky feel. I also enjoy working with country fabrics as it allows me to make wonderful quilts. When I first started quilting it reminded me of how I felt when I was in Junior High making my very first dress. I was so proud! I still have that feeling when I finish a quilt. I like to make wall quilts because I can see my finished project sooner than if I was making a king size quilt.
We do a lot of community quilts for hospitals and shut-ins in my guild. It makes me feel great when I hear the person receiving my quilt is happy
and also going to use my quilt. That makes all the work worth it!
I love working with my friends on relays for baby quilts and sharing our knowledge with others. That makes it not so scary for them then. I hope
you all will share your craft skills with just one person, because I know you
