My mother asked me to sell some of my grandmother’s postcards and other vintage paper items on eBay. After an 1897 book of prints sold for more than $500, I was hooked. I began listing more of her cards and as I learned more, I began buying postcards and selling them. I have now branched out into other areas of vintage, collectible and antiques, but I still have a wide selection of postcards and other paper/ephemera. There are a wealth of resources in Pennsylvania – auctions, estate sales, garage sales and flea markets – the supply seems to be endless. I do the work of finding unique items so that you can have a great selection – often at a great price. Here are a few of the areas that I focus on.
Postcards and Ephemera
Postcards have so much history and generally they are inexpensive to collect. I have town views and scenes, railroad, ships and other transportation, holiday – Christmas, Halloween, Easter etc. I have found myself specializing in Large Letter Linen postcards, I have a good selection now and I am always looking for more of this collectible item. You will find undivided back cards (1901-1907), divided back (1907-1915), white border (1915-1930), linen (1930-1945), Real Photo (RPPC) and some chrome (1945 to present). I also have other ephemera, such as letterhead and billhead, advertising, engravings, lithographs, prints, World War I and World War II and railroad timetables. Retro & Vintage Kitchen Collectibles
I really find this area of collecting interesting. I have many items and I am actively seeking additional inventory to keep things fresh. You will find Pyrex, Chemex, Corning Ware, Anchor Hocking, Fire-King, HC Fry, Hazel-Atlas, Jeanette, McKee/Glasbake, and other glassware manufacturers. For all these manufactures you find Jadeite, milk, amber and other colors of glass. And in all shapes and sizes including coffee and teapots, cruets and decanters, measuring cups, reamers, mixing bowls, refrigerator containers, shakers, and many other variations. Pyrex and Corning Ware I carry many patterns including Autumn Harvest, Blue Stripe, Crazy Daisy, Deco, Friendship, Gooseberry (Yellow and Pink), New Dot, Rainbow Strips, Snowflake and many others. I also have Cinderella Bowls and Casseroles, Ovenware, Flameware, Nesting Bowls, Carafes, Space Saver Casseroles, Dinnerware and many other pieces. Fire-King and Anchor Hocking There are many types of this glass; Dinnerware, Ovenware, bowls, plates, teacups, saucer, mugs, pitchers, ball jugs, casseroles, range sets and others. Patterns like Bubble, Forest Green, Harvest, hobnail, Jane Ray, Rainbow, Restaurantware, Royal Luster, Copper Tint, Shell and Swirl, Turquoise Blue and others.
Dinnerware, Pottery, Plates I try to carry a variety, most are vintage or antique, however, you also find more recent items – especially those that have been discontinued. I particularly like made in England White Ironstone, platters, pitchers, chamber pots, plates, serving bowls and other pieces. I have items by Johnson Brothers, Meakin, Limoges.
