Hi,
My name is Mike Truesdill. I married a wonderful woman named Cherry in 1992 who is my fishing partner for life. We live in Wisconsin where my love of fishing started. I fish about 150 days a year, I've had to cut back in recent years. From 1976 to 1983 I fished every day without missing a day, 3045 continous days to be exact. Some days I could only fish for an hour, but I fished. I love fishing Muskies but do fish for Nothern Pike, Crappies, Bluegills, Perch, Walleyes, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Carp and Catfish. My best day of fishing happened on June 20, 2005. I caught 5 muskies, 3 over 40" with the largest being 58.5" with a 32" girth, a 22" Smallmouth Bass, 26 Largemouth Bass 15-21 inches and 6 Northern Pike around 30". I have had literally hundreds of days catching more fish but the quality of the fish I caught that day from my kayak was awsome! Right now I fish out of a Tracker V17 boat and a 13'8" tandem kayak. I love fishing out of my kayak. I have learned more about fish and fishing since purchasing the kayak than the previous 40 years combined. Fishing from a kayak makes you fish water that you would normally zip by in a motor boat and you would be really surprised by what you find. Like I said earlier I love fishing Muskies and the wisdom is that big Muskies are always deep. That is absolutely hogwash! If anything, I would say there are more, and bigger, Muskies shallow than deep. The addage "a Musky is the fish of ten thousand casts" is crazy. The only reason somebody has to cast that many times to catch a Musky is because they are not fishing where the fish are. Fishing from my kayak has put that myth out of my head long ago. I have no problem catching a Musky every day or so! Sure most of them are under 40 inches but I would rather catch a 29" and 38" Musky a day then cast all day and only get 1 follow. My wife and I regularly fish Muskies out of the kayak. I have logged 140 muskies over 40" with 4 of them over 50" of that 53- 40"+ and 4- 50"+ all were caught fishing from my kayak. My biggest released Largemouth Bass to date is 13lbs 3oz caught on Lake Hodge in California in 1983. I am a proud member of the North American Fishing Club, Musky Inc, Blackhawk Musky Club, B.A.S.S, Fishing Has No Boundries, Ducks Unlimited and North American Hunting Club.
I started selling bulk soft plastic fishing lures on Ebay on March,17 2005. I soon realized that I could make money doing it so I opened my store, Grubby Mike's Fishing Tackle, shortly after. I started adding other fishing items in late 2005 and I am offering over 400 different items. I have shipped fishing items to 63 different countries and that is growing daily. If I don't carry what you are looking for right now, let me know what it is and I will find it for you.
Please remember to keep our great sport alive. "Take a kid fishing" every chance you can and commit to taking a new person fishing at least once a year. It's also a great way to remember your childhood.
