HI MY NAME IS CAROL...THE QUESTION IS WHAT IS A BETTA GUMBALL...WELL HERE'S HOW IT STARTED.  MY DAUGHTER OWN'S A FLORIST SHE HAD REQUESTS FOR THE BETTA VASE WITH THE PEACE LILY AND BETTA FISH.  SHE HAD THIS GREAT IDEA TO OPEN A BOOTH AT OUR LOCAL FLEAMARKET SOME 4 YEARS AGO.  MOM COULD HELP ON FRIDAY SHE HAD TO BE AT HER FLORIST.  WELL, FRIDAY TURNED INTO SATURDAY AND SUNDAY  SO I WAS WORKING AND SHE WAS MAKING MONEY!!  SO I WAS MAKING  SOME SMALL CRAFT ITEMS BUT NEVER SEEMED TO HIT ON THE RIGHT ITEM.   FIRST MY HUSBAND CAME UP WITH THE IDEA OF MAKING LIGHT'S TO LIGHT UP THE VASE'S THAT HAS BEEN AND STILL IS A GREAT SUCCESS.  THEN I STARTED PAINTING CLAY POTS AND I SAW A SHOW ABOUT MAKING THESE ANIMALS WITH POTS THEY WERE SO CUTE I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING THAT WENT WITH THE BETTA FISH.  I SAW A CANDY HOLDER  AT A LOCAL CRAFT STORE MADE WITH A  CLAY POT AND GLASS BOWL AND THAT'S HOW IT STARTED.  AS USUAL MY HUSBAND HAD TO LIGHT THEM  UP !!  WHEN PEOPLE FIRST SAW THEM THEY'D SAY" IT'S A GUMBALL MACHINE" SO I CALLED THEM BETTA GUMBALL'S.  A LITTLE ABOUT ME I'M RETIRED IN FLORIDA.  BORN AND RAISED IN NEW JERSEY (SOUTH) NEVER LIVED IN A CITY.  I'M JUST A COUNTRY GIRL SOMETIMES I THINK I'M THE ONLY ONE IN FLORIDA WITH EARLY AMERICAN FURNITURE!! I LOVE FLEAMARKETS AND GARAGE SALES I LIKE TO GET GREAT BARGINS FOR MY 3 GRANDKIDS(  PICTURED IN MY STORE). I ALSO LIKE TO FIND SMALL SHELVES TO DISPAY ALL MY LITTLE DUST COLLECTIONS. THE NEWEST IS ROOSTER'S. MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE TO TRAVEL WE CAMP ALOT WE TAKE THE GRANDKIDS EVERY CHANCE WE GET. HOPING TO GO UP NORTH THIS SUMMER AND GET AWAY FROM THIS HEAT!!!
