Welcome to Heisler's Creative Stitches!
I'm Billie Heisler, owner and designer. I'd like to answer a few questions about my business.
I will be closing the store at the end of Feb, so make sure you buy what you want before then. Once the store is closed you can send me an ebay message and I can put items up just for you.
The July 2009 Issue of Doll Crafter & Costuming magazine has a doll pattern I designed. It's for cloth flower fairies. It's the first pattern of mine they've published and were great to work with. They don't print many cloth doll patterns so it was a nice surprise when they contacted me and asked me to design something just for them. I've had patterns published in many magazines including Soft Dolls & Animals which is a favorite of mine. It's really the only all cloth doll magazine being printed now. Look for a felt bear pattern I designed this summer in Soft Dolls & Animals.
1. Why did you change the name of your store from Creative Stitchery to Creative Stitches?
When I first started my mail order business I sold supplies for all kinds of embroidery and lace making. The full name of my business is Heisler's Creative Stitchery and Lace, but the and lace part was dropped by my state when I signed up for a license. I decided to shorten it further to Stitches for ebay. Plus it's been my id here since I joined. My business license and web site are still Heislers Creative Stitchery.
2. So what happened to the stitchery stuff?
I'm still selling some of it here at eBay. There's not a lot left but you will see some from time to time.
3. Why not change your legal name now that you don't sell stitchery?
I've seriously thought about it but after selling my line of cloth doll patterns under the name Creative Stitchery, I hate to change it. If I ever did it would be to Creative Stitches, the same as my eBay id.
4. What's with the sewing girl in most of your graphics?
I found her when I first started my business. She was in a book of copyright free drawings. You'll find her here at my eBay store, at my web site, and on most of my business papers.
5. Where can I see more pictures of things you've made?
Look for the links near the bottom of this page to my blog and my google site. There are photos of dolls I've made and more info about me and my businesses. The photo site is being worked on so not many pics are up.
