Welcome to our "About Me" page!

"We" are Michele and Lisa Mauer. And yes, we are related. Actually, we're linked together by my brother, Brent, who Michele married some fourteen years ago. Personally, I'll never figure out the attraction?

So you see? Our e-bay store is a family effort, which really isn't so different from our day jobs. By day, Michele and I work in the office of our family business where we sell and service janitorial maintenance products and equipment and also, pool and spa products and equipment. Oh ... and remember Brent? That guy who Michele is married to? Well, he's very much involved in the family business too. Mom occasionally calls him "Bwana." But for the most part, he's just a gentle giant.

At any rate, besides having Brent in common ... Michele and I appreciate the creative things in life and as such, use our craft projects to unwind and relax.

Michele is a whiz at sewing and has created some beautiful, beautiful quilting projects! Check in our store to see her fantastic table toppers and runners! They're gorgeous! I'll tell you something about Michele's quilting, that she might not share with you, is that at a recent craft show, a lady who learned to quilt from the Amish women in Pennsylvania stopped by our display and complimented Michele on her work. What a nice compliment! I'm not sure if it gets any better than that?

As for me, Lisa? I like a lot of different crafts and have been interested in them from a very young age. In fact, I can remember that at my very first job, the girls at work taught me how to cross-stitch! I was sixteen then and even now I still love to cross-stitch and have picked up on some other kinds of craft projects along the way.

As you'll see in our store, some of my painting projects are listed. I tend to gravitate toward painting surfaces that are either terra cotta and/or have the potential to perk up with a little bit of color added to them.

My biggest seller so far has been my birdhouses. Right now, I only have a limited supply left but am in the process of looking for a new supplier. These birdhouses make wonderful gifts! They're unique and one-of-a-kind and I can almost guarantee you that they will definitely put a smile on someone's face! As an example, I took one out to a friend who was hospitalized and we hung it on her IV stand. When her health allowed her to take laps around the floor, she scooted her IV stand along side her with the birdhouse still hanging! What can I say except that they are definitely cheerful and when people pass by, they smile too.

Clay Pots! They are wonderful! Just picture getting a beautiful red Amaryllis in a Christmas clay pot! Or maybe if you're a Red Hatter, a gorgeous red Amaryllis in a purple and red pot! Decorated clay pots can really reflect someone's personality and/or interests ... with or without a plant! Ever use a clay pot as pencil holder? Put some felt in the bottom on the pot and wa-la! Pencil holder! Here's a few more ideas ... coins, kitchen utensils, buttons, paintbrushes ... even toothbrushes!

Birdhouses and clay pots aren't the only things offered though. There are wall urns and decorative pitchers. Christmas ornaments and hand painted decorative wood items. And like I mentioned, I like all kinds of crafts ... so don't be surprised to see a variety of projects pop up in the Creativity Shoppe!

On a closing note, Michele and I decided early not to box ourselves in to just certain kinds of crafts. Rather, we'd like to be able to offer a variety since we all have different interests. We also thought our store could be somewhat of an outlet for other crafters. Between the two of us, we have a surplus of craft materials and upon checking our e-bay store; you'll see where we have listed this inventory for sale and/or auction.
