My name is Lisa and I've owned Stamp Out for 8 years. I bought the business from my aunt and uncle who had it for 25 years prior to that. Their primary business was manufacturing stamps for office supply companies and businesses. I followed the structure they had set up. In my spare time I enjoyed listing things on E-bay. I then ran across these return address stamps in some stationary stores and I thought they were so cute... I knew I could do them and offer a much better price to the public. I just wasn't sure where to market my great idea. That's when I figured out how to list them with pictures and the story just takes off from there. E-bay has been a wonderful journey and I've made some awesome new friends that I never would have met in a thousand years. Isn't the internet just AMAZING??
I love what I'm doing! It is SO FUN being able to create whatever I want on a rubber stamp! And on a notepad!!! The possibilities are ENDLESS. My mom and my best friend from elementary school make it possible for me to do this. I have an actual shop that the stamps are made and shipped from, the design part and the proofs that I send you I can do from home. It's not uncommon that I'm quickly trying to send out proofs between school, homework and soccer. I have three amazing children: an awesome son who is 7 and my two wonderful daughters who are 4 and 1. They keep me very busy. I do have an amazing support system that I know I am so lucky to have! My dear husband who is also self-employed, is very involved with the kids and their activities. I also made what I consider one of the best decisions EVER!!! Are you ready? I bought the house right next door to my parents! My kids go through my backyard right into their Nana and Papa's backyard. It's great, and my grandma lives with them so my children see their grandparents and great grandma (Nomie) everyday. Nomie helps with homework, reads to them, and she is very active in their daily lives. I think I have the best of the best!
I believe customer service is so important! I do get a TON of e-mails and it does get a tad confusing sometimes because when I'm dealing with you on E-bay, you end up having a lot of identities. First there is the E-bay name, then if you buy and pay from Paypal I have an e-mail name that often doesn't match the E-bay name and sometimes the customer then switches the e-mail address from their Paypal e-mail to another e-mail. Then I have your real name for the stamp and I have up to 15 to 20 transactions going on at the same time. So the more info you can give me the better, and please ALWAYS reference your auction # when we correspond... If I send you a proof and you respond with "That looks great!" then I won't know WHAT looks great!
I do LOVE to be able to show you what you're getting before you buy it but I must admit, I do have to deal with the people who bought and PAID for their stamps first. When I was just beginning I would show lots of proofs and I believe I did get 90% of the orders, but now I'm really busy with E-bay and my SHOP stamp business that I've had for 8 years that it is getting much harder for me to work with people before we have a transaction going. I can promise you this though, if you buy a custom stamp and we just can't seem to figure it out for you I will refund your money. I do like to run a successful business but greedy, I am not. I DO want you to be happy and I would LOVE for you to give me the opportunity to make you happy. If for some reason the stamps aren't what you thought just let me know.
