Mommy's Midwest Mountain Folk Art


I am a self-taught artist who has always enjoyed creating anything from the perfect meal to a peaceful garden. I paint original primitive style folk art paintings on canvas and wood. I have three children, ages 17, 20, and 21, so I finally have a little more time to pursue my own interests. I also work 4 days a week with special needs preschoolers, which I dearly love. Many of my paintings are inspired by the children in my life.

I love spending time with my family, gardening, antiquing, and painting. My grandmother was a prolific oil painter, my father just began painting in his retirement, and my sister (Tamalecat2) also paints and sells her lovely works of art on Ebay. We have so much fun creating and brainstorming together! We have 2 more sisters and 10 kids between us and it is always a fun, noisy blast when we all get together.
