Kim was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in New Jersey. After graduating from Colorado State University with a B.A. in Fine Arts, she moved to New Mexico where she lived for many years developing the D.A. Harris line of fine jewelry and silver art. Kim has a lifetime of experience in silversmithing, jewelry design and engraving. An artist, painter and sculptor as well, Kim is the creator of all designs of the fearsome creatures from the annals of cryptozoology marketed by Cryptocritters.

At their home in Wyoming, Don and Kim enjoy activities such as hiking, tennis, rollerblading, ice skating, cross country skiing and sailing on Lake Flaming Gorge.

Those who claim to have seen one of these creatures often have some pretty compelling stories to tell, and one is hard pressed not to believe them, at least in part. It seems that almost on a weekly basis, somebody purports to have obtained photos, recordings or even actual carcasses or skeletons. However, time and again these exciting discoveries, once subjected to scientific scrutiny, have been found to have mundane explanations such as bears, coyotes, sturgeon or just plain dogs and cats. Most recently, the remains of three strange hairless canines thought to be Chupacabras that had been killing chickens on a ranch in Texas were revealed to have a 100% DNA match with a coyote.

Cryptocritters was formed in 2004 in Laramie, Wyoming by Don and Kim to design and commercialize products based on the mysterious creatures of cryptozoology. In their spare time they have designed a stuffed animal and line of T-shirts and posters depicting the better known monsters. They are presently in the process of editing and typesetting a picture book which is a child’s guide to real world monsters.
