My mother taught me to crochet, embroider, and sew when I was pretty young.  I never quite got the knack of crochet, but I have been sewing and embroidering ever since.  I made some of my clothes during high school and, after my son was born, I made a lot of his baby and toddler clothes as well.  I exhibited in local craft shows many years ago when I made baby doll and Barbie clothes.  I learned to quilt when there wasn't anymore wall space for counted cross stitch. 

I began making pillowcases several years ago when my friend's grandson was undergoing chemotherapy.  I figured if he had to rest a lot, he should have some fun things to rest with.  I have made dozens of pillowcases as gifts for friends and family and, of course, have made many for myself.  I'm told that my pillowcases stand up very well to normal wear and tear (and some abnormal wear and tear inflicted by toddlers and preschoolers), as well as washing and drying.  Because I use mostly cotton fabrics in my pillowcases, they may appear a bit wrinkled when they come out of the dryer.  Mine do, so I iron them a bit.  However, I'm told by others that they have no problems with wrinkling.  Most of the time, I use high quality Kaufman kona cotton solids for my cuffs and pipings.  If I choose something other than Kaufman kona cotton, it's because I'm trying to match a certain color that I can't match with a Kaufman. 

I love bright, vivid colors and I love to decorate for the holidays.  Maybe you do, too.  I offer pillowcases in my eBay store "SWEET DREAMS PILLOWCASES" in a wide variety of prints (including many holiday prints) that will appeal to adults and children alike. 

In addition to my standard size pillowcases (approximately 20 x 30 inches), I also offer travel size or toddler size pillowcases (approximately 13 x 19 inches to fit a 12 x 16 toddler pillow) and matched pairs of standard size pillowcases.  If you would like a 12 x 16 pillow included in your order, just email me. 

Definition of a matched pair:  Both pillowcases are exactly alike.  The print has been cut in the same place at both ends, and the piping and cuff are sewn in the same place on the print on both pillowcases.

I have many hand-quilted envelope-back throw pillow covers listed in my store!  Some throw pillow covers have matching pillowcases for those, like me, who love a mountain of pillows on the bed or on the couch!  The envelope-style back will allow for easy removal for cleaning or for switching from one holiday theme to another.  My throw pillow covers are made to fit a 14x14 inch pillowform.  Pillowforms can be purchased in many stores in your area but if you would like a 14x14 inch pillowform included in your order, just email me.

I have added rag quilts to my inventory.  Each holiday collection I list will contain a rag quilt measuring 40x50".  Non-holiday rag quilts will be added as time allows.  Please refer to my store's page on Rag Quilts for more information.

All of the items that I have listed for sale are already made and ready to ship.  I am happy to take special orders but, if your special pillowcase, throw pillow cover, or rag quilt is meant to be a gift, please allow adequate time for obtaining the print and/or colors you want and for sewing and shipping.  I work outside the home Monday through Friday and only have time to sew on the weekends, so new items will usually be listed on Sundays.  My home is smoke-free, but I am the owner, mother, and servant to two beautiful female cats, Abby and Daisy.  If anyone in your home or in the home of your gift recipient has cat allergies, please don't buy from me.
