Confused about which size to get?
To make it easier, I only make one pattern of crochetted tams, which has a tight band or rim of about 1" to 2" wide. This will go around your forehead and over your ears holding it in place without the need of a string, even if you have long hair and want to keep it all inside the back.
Also, the size chart is an estimated average. The actual size measurement for each tam is on its own auction's page. Sometimes different yarns yield an unexpected size in the finished product.
I try to take lots of pictures so you can have an idea of the size at different angles. The mannequins with the wigs on are about a Medium size heads. So, if you are a Medium, you can wear any size you'd like... it is all a matter of taste in the look that you want to promote.

Small:
 20"- 21" rim / 8" deep
The Small size is for small heads with thin hair. This tams are also a good fit for big children or teens. The S will give you a tighter look around the sides of ur head, like a beanie, yet still give you the slouch in the back to collect ur hair.
Medium:
 22"- 23" rim / 9" to 10" deep
The Medium size is the perfect size for most, man and woman. The band without stretching is about a 22". Because the yarns that I use are not thin, but that of worst or sport weight, the medium tams can fit up to a 24" head. The look will be that of a beanie with a slight bag in the back.
Medium/Large:
 23" rim / 9-10" deep
The Medium/Large is "one size fits all" kind of tam. It looks like a tam without question. It is like a Medium with a deeper back. Also, like a Large but with a thinner body, not much side bulk.
Large:
 23" - 24" rim / 10" deep
The Large size is for the oversize look. G8t for Dreads or other huge hair style. All tams, because of the slauchiness, run larger than other style hats. So this one is very big.
X Large:
 24" - 25" rim / 11" deep
The XL is an exaggeration of big!!! :)) It will turn heads and be a very fun tam to wear. If you have very long dreads or long thick hair, and want to wear it inside the tam, this is the perfect tam for you!
