Welcome to our About Me page. We are RetroZone, Inc. doing business as Damperdirect on eBay. If youe made it this far you already understand the value of a HVAC Zoning System more comfort AND energy savings! With a RetroZone / Damperdirect zoning system you can enjoy perfect comfort where ever you are, while saving on huge amounts of energy by restricting airflow, with dampers, to areas not in use. There are a few things that you need to know before ordering a system. We can help with that!
When designing a HVAC Zoning System here is what you need. First, you should decide how many zones you would like. The tendency is to go with more than you actually need. In a normal situation you could go with 2 or 3 zones - one would be the main living area, a second would be sleeping areas and a third could be any other areas that are not in the first two applications. You would need to discover the size of ductwork that would be zoned and how many ducts would be included. Ideally, you would have one main duct that feeds all the areas you wish in one zone. If not, you would have to zone more than one duct per zone. This would be an ideal situation for our Flexdamper system. Typical parts in an HVAC zoning system using mechanical dampers are: thermostats (one for each zone), zone control panel (recommend our SZC2 or 3 zone model), transformer, a control limit switch (ECL Switch) and possibly a pressure relief damper. Typical parts in a HVAC zoning system using Flexdampers are: thermostats, zone control panel, transformer, a control limit switch, flexdampers, solenoid panel and pump (SPP), plenum tubing and fire rated tape.
