WHAT ARE THESE GUYS ABOUT?
McBrayer Boys Tulia, TX 1920's

MISSION STATEMENT: For better than 100 years within the Great State of Texas the privilege of the McBrayer Family has been in meeting or exceeding the expectations of not only prospective piano & organ consumers but professionally handling the demanding needs of the service sector of the industry in the moving, storage, tuning and restoration of many a treasured "family heirloom"; in so doing it has been of no less importance to maintain and aquire the essential  'piano industry knowledge' necessary regarding the various brands continually introduced and/or assimilated nationally and internationally as the music industry evolves within the 21st Century.

Our goal? "To serve the needs of each consumer professionally and with attentiveness to their respective desires & needs.

A FAMILY TRADITION: It was Newton Lafayette McBrayer who started it all, founding McBrayer Piano in Georgia as a family business sometime around 1895. N.L. was a piano teacher, tuner, and gospel song writer. He had four sons, Hubert Bryan, Joe, the twins Bill and George, and a daughter Opal. N.L. moved his family towards Texas selling & servicing pianos along the way. The family settled for a time in Farmersville, Texas where each of the boys, Hubert, Joe, Bill, and George developed the necessary skills of the trade and continued into the family business. In the early 1920's the family moved to Tulia, Texas where Newt's brothers & sons joined the growing business.

Sometime near the Great Depression era, Newt moved the family to Fort Worth. Following World War II, Hubert a veteran of the War, his wife Mabel and their sons, Dan Sr. the oldest, David JoRay, Mackie Van & daughter Colleen "Beanie" permanately made Ft Worth home. Originally H.B. sold pianos on the Leonard Bros. Department Store's retail sales floor, however the growing needs of his family & the opportunity of introducing the "Boys" into the family trade pushed H.B. to the decision to rent their own building for a place of business in downtown Fort Worth.

The year 2008 brings this family of piano specialist well into the Fifth Generation; current management & the ever demanding workload of the Ft Worth family business which includes handling the sales, service and restoration is still typically conducted hands on both within the shop or in the field & shared between Daniel Jr. (Danny "J"), Monte McBrayer (son of David) and several of the other skilled family members or long termed employees (employed over the preceeding generations).

In breaching the new millenium it is obvious that the McBrayers carry with them an amazing wealth of knowledge and history in dealing with complicated & highly technical instruments, therefore it is no surprise they embrace the latest advances in not only piano industry technology but in the marketing of these instruments as well. In fact, with the ever present sales possibilities in auction sites such as eBay and the many other media & sales formats, Danny and Monte deemed a cutting-edge website ( www.awardpiano.com ) not just a necessary business componet of merchandizing but moreso a very valuable tool assisting each prospective piano owner in the oftentimes difficult and extremely important decision making process of buying or renting a piano as well as with vast number of current piano owners in the maintenance & servicing of their valued instrument or family Heirloom.

WHY BUY FROM THE MCBRAYER'S ?:

Let us count the reasons...

  1. Worry free - When you start with quality pianos, add a knowledgeable support staff, free delivery, one of the best warranties in the business, a lifetime full-value trade-in policy and a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction you can be assured you are receiving a great piano value.

  2. Low overhead - Our showroom doesn't have crystal chandeliers, mirrored walls or oriental rugs, just good value on beautiful pianos. We don't even employ a sales staff. Our quality pianos speak for themselves! By keeping our costs down we keep your costs down!

  3. Great prices - Most of our pianos are priced at half or even lower than their original cost. But more important than low price is Value... the combination of low prices and high quality. That's what sets us apart from our competition! You will be choosing from high-end top of the line piano brands.

  4. Knowledgeable staff - When teachers and piano technicians visit us they recognize the proper facilities and tools needed to provide good service. When you come to see us you should be able to sense our knowledge and respect for this wonderful and amazing instrument. We are members of NAMM & will gladly provide references from many top professionals in the music industry or may be even one of your neighbors.

  5. Thousands of satisfied customers - Browse our showroom and read the thank you letters on our walls. Letters from all over the country that truly demonstrate customer satisfaction. When is the last time you were so happy with a purchase that you took the time to write?

  6. Top brands - Choose from Steinway,Yamaha, Kawai, Baldwin, Chickering, Mason & Hamlin, Knabe, Young Chang and more.

  7. Free delivery - We provide FREE DELIVERY, within roughly a 100 mile radius and offer very low rates for delivery outside our area. However if you purchase a piano like a customer from Houston did and bring someone else to buy (two for one) we just might deliver both for free.

  8. Free bench - With every piano! Some fancy pants stores charge for the bench. Can you believe it?

  9. Lifetime trade-in policy - That's right! When you buy any McBrayer's Award Piano you can trade it in...ANYTIME! The full price you paid will be credited toward the next purchase of greater value including removal and pick up with no charge. This is in writing. The only condition is that you maintain our Lifetime Lmtd. Warranty by having the piano tuned & serviced yearly by either us or any independent PTG technician of your choice.

  10. Excellent service - We have the world's finest piano tuners and repairmen. A great number of professional artists and piano teachers call on us exclusively for service of their pianos.

  11. Family owned - Since 1895.

  12. Limited Lifetime Warranty on parts and labor - Because we perform a complete action regulation on EVERY piano prior to delivery we rarely need to do adjustments in home. Nationwide the chances are near zero of you getting proper action regulation prep from a new piano dealer before delivery.

  13. Fully regulated pianos - Prior to delivery all of our pianos go through a rigorous 25-step (upright) to 34-step (grand) regulation procedure. Regulation is a time consuming labor intensive process in which the internal moving action parts are adjusted and aligned to their original factory specs. Each step of the regulation procedure needs to be repeated 88 times (88 keys!) This is why well over 100 piano teachers and technicians send their students and customers exclusively to us. They know it is important to perform this procedure and they also know that very few fancy pants piano retail stores will regulate their new or used pianos before delivery. It costs too much.
