Do
You Collect Antique Toys?

DO!
Since 1970 I've
collected antique
toys. All kinds of toys; tinplate, steel, cast iron, lead, die cast,
wood, plastic, paper, glass, ceramic, & celluloid. Even some
very old bone, clay, ivory, and silver toys.
And just about every area of collecting; Clockwork & mechanical
wind-ups, Battery Op's., Pressed Steel Vehicles, Western Toys, Robots,
Character Toys, Board Games, Space Toys, Victorian, Tin.... you name
it. If I liked it, I collected it.
And from every toy producing country; America, Germany, Japan,
France, Great Britain, and others. I knew no boundaries. I
considered even so called "girl" toys like dollhouses, plushes and doll
furniture as unique treasures.
With well known names
like Marx, Girard, Chein, Lehmann, Wolverine, TootsieToy,
Technofix, Barclay, Masudaya, Nomura, McLoughlin, Horikowa, Cragstan,
Arnold, Dent, Arcade, Kilgore, Kenton and many others. Plus many not-so-well known names like McDowell, Lindstrom, Buffalo
Toy & Tool, Animate Toy, Charlmar, Katz, &
Nosco.....everything became fair game to me.
I worked over 20 years
in a large corporation until I realized that I should do something that
really enjoy doing...and that's buying and selling antique toys. I
started American Toys in 1994 from the sheer love of antique toys and
that's the basis that I run my company. I take personal pride in making
sure that every customer is satisfied with their purchase. If my
customers aren't happy they're not going to come back to me and that's
not how I do business. For that reason I stand behind everything I
sell. Every purchase is returnable.
Mailing and packaging
is another very important step to me. Every package that's sent out is
individually wrapped and protected to insure that it's safely delivered
to your doorstep. That's how I'd want it for me!
One last point.
American Toys is an "I" company, not a "We" company. As I see it a
transaction is from me to you. You'll never see "we at American Toys"
or "we're proud to offer". These "third person" sales make it look like
the company is a living, breathing entity. It's not! These beautiful
treasures are sold by me to you. I deal with my customers as people not
sales figures. I've found that being myself, acting responsibly,
professionally and politely keeps 'em coming back.
