Tree of Life

I love making art. I consider myself one of the most fortunate people, because I enjoy what I do for a living! I hope my art makes you happy or causes you to wonder.
I have been making art since I was a small child. I tried so many other choices for a career and studied journalism in college but nothing compelled me so much as creating things out of paint and other materials.
But, is it really outsider art?
I went back to college for a master's degree in art. That might indicate that I am not a true outsider. I don't know. You decide.
In college I was put off by the whole corporate art scene of Insider Art. The art machine requires real artists to move to large cities and woo important galleries and make big art out of expensive supplies. It all seems so pompous and untrue to me.
When you buy a piece of art on wood from me, chances are you are buying an actual piece of the house I have been living in and remodeling for the past 30 years! The paintings I make are the flesh and blood of my existence.
I accumulate so much stuff too. Since I have been living in my beach house numerous people I have known drop things off here for me. One of my missions in life is to use all this stuff up. I create out of cast off wood, cardboard, housepaint, tin...whatever.
I love to use ordinary subjects - like cats, dogs, angels, fruit, ravens, etc. I don't think a painting is finished until it has some life force, till it looks back at you...maybe it winks too.
I wonder if anyone reads this?
I've been starting to make jewelry. I might offer the earrings on eBay. Tell me if you are interested. Please tell your friends about me so I can sell more work through eBay. I love working and selling my art from home. Don't forget to sign up for My Favorites.
This will ensure that you get emails with my new listings.
