It has been over nine years now since I became a member of the eBay community and I am so very grateful for the opportunity to meet so many lovely people. From young to old...from the out of work to the astrophysicist...from the young man who lives in New York City to the grandmother who lives in the house her father built in the Appalachians - this has been an experience not to be missed.

SOME VERY IMPORTANT THANK YOU'S

 

There is a very special lady on ebay, Steph, my friend and non-genetic sister, who must have been linked to me spiritually for many eons. She didn't know what she was in for! Steph had shared her knowledge of ebay with me when I couldn't make ends meet - and she did this with love, kindness and her very special sense of self.

Although on different coasts (mine is not rumbling as much as hers!!), I feel Steph is family and I couldn't have chosen a sweeter woman or one with a kinder heart.

We finally had a chance to meet and it was as if we had been living across the street from one another for years.

 

And, more recently, I have met Gwenn, who shares my passion for movies and TV.  I know....I know...it's an addiction - but there are worse addictions, I guess.  Gwenn and I met through an auction, but quickly started sharing likes and dislikes of cinema.  This has been a load of fun!

 

And there is Carol (without an "e").  This lady is someone who has dealt with a major and life threatening illness, had a kidney transplant, dealt with a husband who was SEVERELY brain injured in an accident - and much much more.  And though all these things, of course, have affected her life, Carol has maintained the most glorious sense of humor you could possibly imagine.  Strength of spirit?  You have no idea!

When I see my doctors at NIH (stupid little brain tumor decided to live with me as its condo!), I can't help but think of Carol's hilarious narrative in the back of my head, because I know she would make the best of a bad situation.  I don't think she knows what good medicine she has been for me.

 

These are just a few of the people who have touched my life within these years and I will carry them with me forever. If I never buy or sell another thing on eBay, I will have obtained treasures BEYOND any auction...my friends.

 

 

IN MEMORIUM, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THE NAME OF JONAS PANIK, WHO LOST HIS YOUNG LIFE AT THE PENTAGON ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001. I AM BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HIM IN MY LIFE! HE WAS A SPIRIT WHO TOUCHED MANY, LOVED WHOLEHEARTEDLY - AND WORKED TO SAVE LIVES FROM THOSE WITH NO REGARD FOR LIFE ITSELF.
