Back to previous page  Little Luna Studios - Artwork by David Rosales "Catching a Flat on the HWY of Love" oil on canvas 2006 Hello my name is David Rosales and I am a Southern California artist and college art instructor who takes time out to buy and sell art and antique photographs on Ebay. I have enjoyed all the time that I have spent here and meeting people from all over the world and the U.S. Primarily I am known as a painter of culturally inspired artworks and I like to work in many kinds of art media. I enjoy working in oils, acrylics, watercolor, drawing and digital art. I have been working for the past 25 years on my artwork developing my unique style of art that is both real and animated. Currently I am working in a realistic almost academic style of painting but I also have a need to keep the paint loose and colorful bringing the controlled to the lyrical so I can maintain my sense of artistic balance. My subject matter is diverse and filled with metaphors and symbols that may or may not have meaning. I use ambiguous naratives in my work that both confuses and entertains the viewer. "Frida" Prismacolor on paper 2006 I have been published in an art book called "Contemporary Chicana and Chicano Art" and it was published by the Bilingual Press of Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. My artwork has also been published in "Chicano Art for Our Millenium" and "Triumph of Our Communities" both of these are also Chicano Art books. You can sometimes find these book on Ebay for sale. I will offer some prints and original artwork in my store for the collectors out there since San Bernardino, California is out of the way for most of you.
