On the face of it, why should it matter if the BIN price is $1 and Shipping is $49 if you feel the product you want is worth $50 anyway? 1. They are avoiding eBay fees, what else will they do to cut corners and save costs?
2. What happens if you require a refund on your purchase? Since shipping costs are usually not refunded you wil end up receiving a small refund compared to the overall cost ($1 in the example above)
3. If you item is damaged or lost during shipment, the Shipping Carrier will usually refund only what the product cost you, not the shipping charges, so again you stand to lose the lions share of the cost.
4. They are hurting honest sellers by driving away buyers who have been caught out by this scam.

So you can immediately see the problem with this type of fee avoidance, the advantage is firmly with the seller, while the buyer leaves themselves open to a great amount of risk. The only way to protect yourself is to carefully check the shipping price and avoid sellers who charge excessive fees.
