I you are reading this you have found our "About Me"
page. Actually, it is an About Us because this business
is both my wife Debbie and me. Our having just celebrated seven
years as an Ebay Power Seller we have experienced many
changes that affect both you and us as Buyers & Sellers.
Ebay's decision to place profits over sustainable growth
hurts both you and us. For example, we sell an HO scale
Jordan Industrial Miniatures kit for $5.95 and the
listing fee is $0.35. This is reasonable, but on the
back end Ebay charges the Seller a 12.5% Selling fee or
$0.74 per kit sold at this price. This example applies
to every single item we sell in our Ebay Store as well
as every other Ebay Store!
So the only way we can rectify the losses we experience
selling from our Ebay Store (other than raising the
prices to cover this expense) is when you close out your Ebay purchases with us you
will end up finalizing it in our
www.DEBENLLC.com
100% SECURE (provided by the same folks who provide the
Ebay secure checkout) WebStore. We would like for you to
consider purchasing our very same products (actually, we
have hundreds more items in our WebStore than what we
have in our Ebay Store). That's it—no blinking arrows;
no flashing logos—just click on any of the
Categories to the left and see
what you've been missing! Got more questions?

And here is some information that you will find out
about our
WebStore!
First, we have nearly doubled the number of Doctor Ben's
Weathering Pigments. We now have two
27-Colors Sets: an Armour Set and a Railroad Set
both packed full of incredible colors that individual
interests will find essential and value packed. We
still have the two
8-Color sets for both interests and we are adding
two
11-color Pigment Sampler Sets geared more towards
our Dealer Network. The Doctor Ben's Sampler Sets are in
one ounce re-sealable jars which in turn are enclosed on
a durable, clear case. The Pigment Sampler Set case does
have a twelfth jar which will be utilize to hold rubbing
alcohol for the upcoming Doctor Ben's "How-To #2:
Painting & Weathering with Industrial Pigments-They're
Not Your Dad's Chalks Anymore!" booklet. This new
booklet will be included in each of the sets as soon as
we can get the editing completed and printed, stapled, &
folded (we do this ourselves to keep costs down and to
save you money. Until the new booklet is ready the
How-To #1 is included in all Pigment Sets.
Another great accomplishment is that we revamped the
Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain listings and images. A
very *special* thanks goes out to Robert Wintzinger for
creating samples of each of the seventeen Weathering
Stains that we have converted to post in each of the
listings instead of pictures of jars full of Stains
product. We found that folks were hesitant to purchase
some of the colors due to the pictures on the website.
We found that two things were discouraging folk from
trying the products. First, acrylic pigments we
wet/moist are a much different color that when they have
taken time to dry. Hence, viewers browsing through our
on-line website could not get an accurate color
representation of the produce viewed only in a jar.
Second, all of our images are photographed and printed
in CMYK and the internet is RGB. We discovered that the
Internet's conversion of CMYK to RGB messed with the
colors and depending on the monitor viewing the
"converted" image 500 people would get 500 different
color representations. So we took photos of Roberts
samples in RGB and posted them in RGB so you could
better see what the colors looked like on a slice of
wood siding.
Robert went one step further by sampling each stain
sample by: 1) brushing on the Doctor Ben's Weathering
Stain and allowing it to dry momentarily and then wiping
off with a dry rag/paper towel. The Weathering Stain
sample was then 2) brushed on (two coats) and allowed to
dry with no further action. And finally the Weathering
Stain sample was 3) brushed on allowed to dry and then
wetting a rag/towel with rubbing alcohol, Robert them
rubbed off the Weathering Stain so that some wood began
to show through and then *spritzed*
with
Doctor Ben's Instant Age (#1052).
