About Me
Hello and welcome to my "About Me" page! I am an antique, glass loving aficionado lady who is also a non-traditional college student majoring in marketing.
I started my eBay store in October 2008 not knowing whether I could sell on eBay or not. I started at my church garage sale with $53.00 birthday money and have built up inventory and store from that.
I go to auctions and estate sales with my father almost every weekend all over the states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. We have so much fun picking, planning, and deciding which route to take to which sale. Often we leave at 4:00 am and don’t get home until around midnight. Sometimes we hit two or three auctions in the same day. If the sale is not what we thought it would be or if the prices are too high we move on. I love the Friday evening auctions in the quaint, small, old-fashioned towns where people still park in the middle of Main Street!
My whole family is involved in this and cannot wait to see what we bring home. Sometimes it gets a little hectic unloading from the "Expedition", taking boxes into my parents house, unwrapping for all to see, wrapping back up, loading back into the car, and then taking everything to the store to start the process all over again. We have such fun. My friends and I have a long conversation if the subject of eBay comes up!
All through the year I pick out special items I find at auction for my gift giving at Christmas.
My main interest and purchases (present) tend to be in the vintage glass, crystal, porcelain, china, vintage/retro kitchen, and decorative collectible areas.
I always buy oriental items: anything Japanese, Chinese, or Asian from cloisonné to figurines, mud men, and soap stone carvings. I buy whatever catches my eye!
I recycle packing materials from our local hospitals, doctors' offices and shops. On trash day I recycle styrofoam that people have put out for the garbage men. I use paper shreds from my mother’s CPA office.
I have many interests and hobbies. I love to travel, fish (salt and fresh water), garden (flowers and veggies), go to the beach, shelling, rock hound, hike, read, and bake, bake, bake. That is why you will find so many vintage kitchen items – I can’t pass them up – they are so much better than new! Cookie sheets DON’T warp, cooling racks HOLD the cookies up, thick and deep 10” pie plates, etc.
I attend college full time and just changed my major to eCommerce Marketing. I feel that eStores are the stores of the future. I endeavor to please every purchaser and stand by my products. Each sale is guaranteed 100% and I offer 100% refund including shipping for the return. I want to treat each and every customer as I would like to be treated. Thus far, my store has prospered and grown. God willing, it will continue to do so.
