Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly...
Was the Easter Bunny out tom catting around?

It is with the saddest heart and heavy thighs that we must pass on the following news... Please join us in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very 'smart' cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions. Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough; two children, John and Jane Dough; plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

The Philosophy Professor

I had a philosophy professor who was the quintessential eccentric philospher. His disheveled appearance was highlighted by a well-worn tweed sport coat and poor-fitting thick glasses, which often rested on the tip of his nose. Every now and then, as most philosphy professors do, he would go off on one of those esoteric and existential "what's the meaning of life" discussions. Many of those discussions went nowhere, but there were a few that really hit home. This was one of them:

"Respond to the following questions by a show of hands," my professor instructed. "How many of you can tell me something about your parents?" Everyone's hand went up. "How many of you can tell me something about your grandparents?" About three-fourths of the class raised their hands. "How many of you can tell me something about your great-grandparents?" Two out of sixty scholars raised their hands. "Look around the room," he said, "In just two short generations hardly any of us even know who our own great-grandparents were. Oh sure, maybe we have an old, tattered photgraph tucked away in a musty cigar box or know the classic family story about how one of them walked five miles to school barefoot. But how many of us really know who they were, what they thought, what they were proud of, what they were afraid of, or what they dreamed about? Think about that. Within three generations our ancestors are all but forgotten. Will this happen to you?"

"Here's a better question, Look ahead three generations. You are long gone. Instead of you sitting in this room, now it's your great-grandchildren. What will they have to say about you? Will they know about you? Or will you be forgotten, too? Is your life going to be a warning or an example? What legacy will you have? The choice is yours. Class dismissed." Nobody moved from their seat for a good five minutes.

"When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car."

Why does the law of our society prohibit sex between lawyers and their clients?

To prevent clients from being billed twice for what is essentially the same service.

Do genealogists have a sense of humor? Morbid at times, but yes...

Reached A Dead End in Your Reseach? Your Dead End Does Not Need To End Here...

hi... whether it is selling a new items or finding a home for items that are no longer used by me, some call it 'selling' while i prefer to call it 'adoption' but, that isn't all that i do...

I do family history research for anyone who either doesn't have the time to do it themselves... or can't. Maybe its a case of being stuck looking at a brick wall with no idea of what to do next... wants me to do it in less time and for less money than they could do it... or feels they lack the qualifications to properly track down the ancestors who seem to be playing a game of hide and seek with them... I usually find them!

Why should you do family history research? Two simple major reasons...

First, it can help give your children and grandchildren a greater feeling of not only belonging to society in general but if a bit of your family's rich heritage can be passed on to the next generation. It will help pass on greater family values.

Secondly, a medical family history could easily help save a life and extend a life... yours, your child's, your grandchild's. Ten years ago the medical profession was saying if they knew your medical family history for only two previous generations they could immediately add ten to fifteen years to the average person's life span by your adherence to dietary changes, regular weekly exercise and in some cases preemptive surgery... that was before computers were fully hooked up to the Internet... genetics is now a medical field that has been undergoing monthly breakthroughs of staggering proportions. The studies of genetics and genealogy have been merged... the future is today.

Dependable Dennis with Pan-Tech_International

Pan-Tech International, Inc was started by Samuel Adam Matz, Phd, who authored dozens of leading trade books on bakery products for professionals in the baking industry over his fifty year career. Dr Matz and i have been not just good neighbors but close personal friends for over 15 years... we've worked in the corporation and on several projects together for several years. i've been the historical researcher for a few of his books, have acquired the corporation's inventory of dozens of titles of his books, and we've kept in constant daily contact via several daily e-mails for many years... it continues today... and i've traced his family tree.

My eBay name used to be only DependableDennis until January 2007, when, as planned, it became Pan-Tech_International in an effort to be more descriptive of the services and products offered in over 75 languages to the world. The eBay user name of DependableDennis is still mine and will be retained for selling unrelated products and services.

Your questions, comments and observations are always welcome...
