Hello and thank you for stopping by Desert Rabbit Design :-)

4/26/05

Here we go again. I'm bad about keeping this page updated. I haven't updated this thing in 6 months which is better than 2 years or 11 months, my previous records. ha ha.

I just got back onto ebay recently. I stopped working on the new place cause I couldn't take it any more! NO more home improvement. We worked really hard for several months though. The top floor is in great shape. I still have the studio to work on. a.k.a. "spare" bedroom. The closet needs to be finished and closet stuff hung up so I can get all the stuff out of the bathroom, um that's been there for a year. Kill me now. I've got 2.5 bathrooms so, it has been urgent to unpack the second bathroom. Sometimes it would have been nice to get in there though and use the shower.

Lately I've been working and working at the day job. Reminds me of Thank You for Smoking. It's all about the mortgage. ;-) Good movie by the way.

I'm still taking my lampwork classes which I'm enjoying. I only get a few hours a week of torch time and since I've been listing some of my beads, well I'm running out! I am hording some favorites and I may or may not part with some of them as loose beads. Not sure yet. I've got a few more classes before the summer sesson starts and I will get back to making PMC beads. My goal is to have my own torch, kiln etc this year. I'm trying to save all the money first or most of it so I don't have to use the evil credit card.

My only other real news is, I FINALLY have hi speed internet access!!!! Yeah. Let there be much rejoicing!!!! No more 56K dial up. I feel human now. Weeee! I can surf ebay in a reasonable amount of time now.

No other shows are currently planned and I'm having a hard time keeping up with my jewelry. But there you have it. Thanks for your interest in my work and thank you for stopping by. :-)

You can find some of my latest jewelry creations here.

I am still trying to find some time to get new stuff up as time permits. I hope you will bookmark my store or auction page or my other website and check back weekly to see my newest designs.

Desert Rabbit Design

Desert Rabbit Design specializes in creating unique beaded jewelry including: necklaces, chokers, bracelets, earrings, anklets, belly bands and belly charms. My pieces are designed using a variety of semi-precious gemstones, lampwork, glass, crystal and metals to be enjoyed for years to come.

About me

My name is Michele and I have been designing beaded jewelry off and on for the past 10 years. The internet has provided me the opportunity to bring my pieces to a larger audience than I ever could have imagined.

Like most beaders, I'm a die hard beadaholic and love to shop for different types of beads, but my first love is semi-precious stones. My jewelry is designed using a variety of semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, lampwork, Austrian crystal (Swarovski®), Czech glass and different types of base metals and silver.

A few years ago I discovered lampwork beads and developed an incredible fascination with them. I've been taking classes for a little over a year now and now am venturing into creating and offering my own lampwork beads as jewelry or as loose beads. I'm really excited about this new direction and can't wait to share them with you.

Custom Sizing

I can custom size the length of any piece you're interested in if the materials are available. Just drop me an email.

Earrings

I use French hooks or posts for all the earrings I design. I can switch french hooks with leverbacks if you'd like. An additional charge of $1 may apply. Just drop me an email.

Shipping/Insurance

Packages are sent via US mail, priority or regular first class. Insurance is optional. I cannot be held responsible for uninsured items lost or destroyed in the mail. Usually the postal service providers just squish the boxes by running them over with a large vehicle or dropping them from airplanes, but your jewelry should arrive safe and wearable. ;-)

Refunds

I want you to be happy with what you purchase and hopefully wear it (all the time :-) If dissatisfied I will provide a refund minus shipping and PayPal fees (if applicable) if item is returned in original condition within 10 days. Please contact me before leaving negative feedback if you have any problems with your purchase.

Background

I have a BD in graphic design from the University of Florida and currently work full time as a graphic designer. I moved from Florida where I was born to Phoenix, Arizona in 1994. I traded a hot and humid place for a hot and dry place. Since I'm a bunny nut and I live in the desert,I decided to name my jewelry business Desert Rabbit Design.

I live with my bunny and my fluffy cat and my not as fluffy SO. I'm also a volunteer for Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue, the largest no kill shelter for abandoned and unwanted domestic rabbits in the Southwest. If you need bunny help drop me a line.

Here's my cat. I love my cat. Her name is Kitty.

Here's my evil bunny Perrywinkle.
He's a little demon
