Hi, my name is Dirwood... and I have been creating glass art
professionally since 2004 at my home studio in Southwestern Ohio. My glass has evolved considerably since
I graduated from Bowling
Green State University in 2003 with a BFA specializing in blown glass.
While going to college I apprenticed with glass artists and took workshops
all over the country during the summers. I still continue to
travel around the country and take workshops on various glassmaking skills
and techniques to further my ability as an artist and glassmaker.
My current works include blown vessels, sculpture and fused glass panels.
Each piece I create is totally unique in color, shape and design. I
am continually advancing my work experimenting with pattern, form and
the various elements of glass, such as cane and murrini.
Simultaneously
inspired by nature and life itself, I often compare the personality
of my work to the joy in my own life.
