Dear Friends: Past, Present and Future
Let me tell you a little about myself and my home
business, called DN Designs. I am Devie Nickelson, and
I started my home custom garment sewing business
in 1986. I love to sew, but I also love to use my
artistic talents to create.
At first, I was making prom dresses and other formals, but quickly added wedding
gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, veils, headpieces, and girls' formalwear, dance and
Pageant wear. For nearly five of those years I was contracted to design and make
all kinds of children's wear.
Over the years, I have had different ladies helping me, but I did the designing, cutting,
and fitting myself in order to keep the reputation for quality work that I had achieved.
My business reputation has spread by word of mouth, to where I have designed for
customers as far away as the west coast. But I do love the fact that this is a small
"family" business, and all are treated as individuals with specific needs and wants.
With the advent of a new member to our family in 2002,
our first granddaughter, Eve; I decided I would like to
share this expertise with others, in a new line of couture
children's wear and unique baby items and gifts.
I look forward to designing, in Nana's Workshop,
future items for the most important aspect of our lives:
Our children and grandchildren.
