What I Want You to Know About Me

I am very sensitive to the fact that I have received a number of negatives in my feedback this year, and I would like to clarify it for anyone reading this page.

Just today, 10/23/08, I received two negatives from the same person who says I did not mail her two patterns. I did mail them the day after she paid for them. She did not want insurance. My listing says if you do not buy insurance, then I cannot guarantee anything, once the item is mailed and in someone else's hands. There was no tracking number on the envelope because it was a thin envelope, and the post office will not accept anything less than 3/4" thick if it has a tracking number on it, so I had to use stamps, instead of computer printed label. After a week went by, she emailed me that she had not received the package yet, but did say that she had just moved and didn't have a mailbox outside her house, and that she wished she had given me her old P.O. box address instead!!! She said some of her other ebay purchases were late in arriving as well! Well, that was a month ago, and my envelope has still not arrived at her house. In spite of several kind, cooperative emails that I sent her, she filed a claim with PayPal, (which takes a month to process). Instead of waiting for a decision by PayPal, she decided to give me negative feedback, saying I was "rude, mean, and am a thief"????! Of course, I will not be able to have this feedback removed, because ebay doesn't work that way, so it will be here for another year for you to see, with this explanation. Sorry about that. Anyone can read all of my feedback and see that this is the only thing I've mailed that did not reach its destination, as of this date. Maybe if she had a mailbox, and had properly had an address change with the post office, she might have received it, but she chose not to insure it and that was the risk she took. If I felt I was at fault in any way, I would have replaced the patterns at my expense, but I handled her purchase the same as I do everyone else's, with prompt shipment and courteous service. It is reflected in the feedback comments I have received, and which I really appreciate.

Two of the negatives are from people who did not read the item description.  They looked at the gallery picture only, and did not read that they were buying a pattern for what was pictured.  When they got a pattern, and not a finished item, instead of realizing it was their mistake, they gave me bad feedback!

Since the listing was in the pattern category, and since it explicitly described a pattern, I consider these buyers very unfair for not taking responsibility for their own mistake, and very unfair to my reputation as a seller.  Ebay does nothing about it.

The other three negatives are from people who sold something to me.  The first item was two doll wigs that were beautiful in the Gallery picture, but when they came, looked as if two dogs had chewed on them for a month!  I contacted the seller but she would not admit she was dishonest, and that she tried to pass off damaged wigs to me.  So I filed a claim with ebay, and got a full refund.  The seller then was angry and gave me bad feedback!  Ebay would not remove this.

Then I bought a $400 antique doll and before a placed my Buy It Now bid, I questioned the seller if there were ANY marks, rubs, any disfigurement to the doll's face at all.  She said there were "NONE".  I placed my bid, and when the doll arrived, she had a white mark in the middle of her rouged cheek which was very disfiguring.  I contacted the seller right away and she told me I had "buyer's remorse and that I expected an antique doll to look like new."  Neither of these were true.

I filed a claim with PayPal and after a month, I was awarded a full refund.  The seller would not admit she was dishonest, and said I had returned to her a damaged doll!  She was angry because she had to give me my money back, and gave me a negative feedback!  That was in January of 2008, in case you want to see what transpired on both sides in our feedback.

I write this because I want my buyers to know that they will not experience this kind of dishonesty when they shop with me.  If something is not as I have described it, I will make it right.  I stand behind what I sell.  I enjoy smooth transactions on ebay, prompt payment on the buyer's part, promise very expeditious shipment on my part, careful packaging, and actual postage prices (not inflated ones).

Thank you for your interest, and contact me, please, if you have any questions, or need help using anything you buy from me.
