About Me

When Dominga was a young woman, she fell in love with a handsome, green-eyed man from Mexico. When he was shot and killed in a case of mistaken identity, his brother Gregory asked for her hand in marriage.

Beautiful Dominga with her alabaster skin and high cheekbones accepted. They married and built their first home on the beach in Carpinteria, California. They raised 5 children. One of whom is my mom, their only daughter.

From Dominga and Gregory, I inherited through my clever mother, the gift of creativity and love for beauty. My grandfather could build, grow, design or create anything. He was among many things, a successful leather artisan in Los Angeles California.

My grandmother was famous for her cooking and sewing. Her mother before her was a talented seamstress. My mom naturally picked up the knack and passed it on to me. She taught me to sew and design. Grandma taught me to make a mean salsa. (She called it chile).

It is to my family whom I dedicate my boutique. I named it Dominga Luna after my grandmother who so hated her name. I would like the name Dominga to conjure up images of artistry, whimsy and the beauty of children. Luna - well, it just sounded good. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa are up there near the moon, in heaven, watching me and my children. We hope we honor you Grandma and Grandpa. We love you and we miss you.

One of the most fun and challenging tasks of sewing for Ebay Boutique Auctions has been photographing the sets. I have been working on my photography and have recently felt confident enough to offer it as a service to my fellow designers. We are term models.
