Friends of Milanof-Schock Library, Mount Joy, PA


The Friends of the Milanof-Schock Library is an association of persons interested in the growth and development of the library.  We were organized in August 1999.  Area residents donate their used books to us for our once-a-year book sale, held every April.  As these books are sorted, the very special ones are sold in our book store (in the library at 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, PA) or listed on eBay.  Library funds are increasingly being cut at the county and state levels so our eBay sales have become more and more important.  Money from book sales is donated by the Friends group to the library.  We also sponsor special library programs.

  

 

We moved into our new library building in February 1999 from the Mount Joy Library Center, which was a quaint - but small - building on Main Street.  We now serve Mount Joy and Marietta boroughs and East Donegal, Rapho, and Mount Joy townships.  The library is named after Anne Milanof and Clarence Schock, whose gifts enabled the building project to move forward.
