A Little Personal History
Ruven grew up in el Terrero, which is about 30 minute walk from the nearest mine, La negrita or it is also known by the name Varaduz. By the age of twelve he was well on his way to becoming a great fire agate lapidary artist. He spent a great deal of his childhood days grinding away at the rough stones, carefully chipping at the matrix to uncover the deeply hidden treasures that lie beneath the quartz covered agates. This was to become his great calling in life. To this day, even with 30 years experience, he stills gets an excited grin whenever he comes to find a beautiful fire filled agate. |
