Donna Clair My name is Donna Clair. I live and paint in Taos, New Mexico, USA. I was born in Chicago, and moved to the high desert country of the Southwest in 1967. Immediately I was struck by the unusual light on the landscape -- there is a reason they call New Mexico "The Land of Enchantment"! I have also traveled to Guatemala and Mexico and choose these subjects to paint, as well as my landscape work. After forty years, I still feel the same excitement for my subjects as on the day I arrived in Santa Fe -- traveling remnants of the Old Santa Fe Trail. In these forty years I have lived for a long time in Santa Fe, then moved to the small Hispanic village of Truchas, tucked away in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains -- and for the last seventeen years have lived in the artist's retreat of Taos, New Mexico. I can't imagine my life without this place -- it continues to be a wonderful adventure!
