About Me: douglasmcgowan( 1254Feedback score is 1000 to 4,999) About Me

My name is Douglas and I've been buying records since 1993 and selling them since 1999. I live by the golden rule.

PACKING: I use custom cardboard mailers made specifically for LPs, I don't use those free cheapo boxes the PO hands out. Unless you ask otherwise, or unless packed tightly enough to be unnecessary, every record is shipped outside its cardboard sleeve to prevent seam splitting. Also, please note that I will reuse shipping boxes whenever possible. Yes, I am cheap, but I also recycle. Thanks.

USA POSTAGE RATES: 1 album by Priority Mail is $8; for each additional add $1.50. Media Mail is slower, slightly less expensive and more likely to arrive damaged. 1-2 albums by Media Mail is $4.00, for each additional add $1.50.

FOREIGN POSTAGE RATES: The following rates are for uninsured Airmail: CANADA or MEXICO: 1 album: $7.00, add $2 each additional. EUROPE or SOUTH AMERICA: 1 album, $13.00, and add $2 for each additional; ASIA, AUSTRALIA, N.Z: $14.00 / $2 each additional. I will quote a price to any customer with a larger order. If you want me to double-box your order for extra protection, ask me to quote you a price. If your package is valuable, Registered Mail is available to most countries. Registration is an additional $8.00 on any parcel. I recommend Registered mail for all parcels to Italy & Mexico but all orders are carefully packed and are rarely lost or damaged!

GRADING: First grade refers to cover, second to disk. I use a standard, strict grading system; let's band together to stop wishful grading on ebay. I don't sell records with skips or warps, or moldy / trashed covers except in the case of exceptionally rare / collectable items, and I will always note that sort of stuff in detail. Please note that all grades are visual. Please note this very carefully: I do not provide refunds except in cases where I have made a mistake. I am human and I make mistakes. I often refund for other reasons as well but not when a buyer is rude or threatening, or when they've decided they don't like a record.

NM (Near Mint) Highest grade given.

EX (Excellent) The netherregion between NM and VG+ usually defined by imprefections often ignored by sellers and simply called "mint" or NM. Examples include light dust on the disk or a bb hole or hint of ringwear on an otherwise perfect cover.

VG+ (Very Good Plus) Very clean LP. Maybe a couple of sleeve marks or hairlines on disc. Jacket with faint creases or small dings on corners, or very fine splitting (always noted).

VG (Very Good) Disc with some visible scuffs or scratches. Should play with light surface noise between tracks and maybe a tick or pop here and there. Jacket with light ringwear or seam splitting. Still presentable and listenable.

G (Good) : Disc well used, but not abused. Should not overpower music and no skips. Jacket with splits or ringwear, writing or tape. My "G" is equivalent to many dealers' "VG." (Or VG+ or VG++ or VG+++...)

Anyway folks sorry to get heavy on you, thanks for your business, and keep it real.
