What is Douwe?
Many years ago, back in the Prodigy days, before the AOL explosion, I bought one of my first computers. I needed a personalized tag name and pondered that one for quite some time. I mean really...this was almost as important as naming your child. I was looking through books and magazines, reading labels off canned goods and alas, there it was! A can of Dutch Rolling Tobacco called "DRUM by Douwe Egbert" My son's dad used to smoke that stuff. And now you all know how Douwe came to be. ;) Now we are a smoke-free home!
Douwe the Musician
My whole family are a musicians. Some quite successful...although, it does appear I am moving more slowly in the musical success factor. I've been playing piano, mostly classical since the age of 3 and pretty much had private tutors through the early years. Now thirty-sev.....ahem....twenty nine years later I work and play Rock & Roll with a band. Our band was voted "Best New Unsigned Artist of 2003" and just closed for Cyndi Lauper at Sunfest West Palm Beach. That was a blast! I have a great kid and a neurotic parrot "Orson" (yes like Orson Welles), which at his current rate of food injestion, he should be ready for Thanksgiving! Only kidding. No animals have been harmed while creating this ABOUT ME page. ;)

I've been a long time fan of VS and now have the opportunity to share my finds with those who share my enthusiasm. I wish I would could have found these great clothes and shoes when I was buying. Believe me, its hard to auction them, so the only logical thing to do is to buy one of everything for myself. :) What better testimonial could you ask for!
