My name is Laura Leigh Post, and I live and work in the American Pacific. I reside on Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (U.S.), which only joined the United States Family a quarter-century ago, and do business in the CNMI and in the neighboring Territory of Guam (U.S.), which has been part of the United States since the Spanish-American War, 1898. Many people ask, so I'll tell you that there are presently 56 U.S. jurisdictions: the 50 states + District of Columbia (federal) + Commonwealth of the NMI (MP) + Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (PR) + Territory of American Samoa (AS) + Territory of Guam (GU) + Territory of the U.S. Virgin Islands (VI).The CNMI and Guam comprise Chamorro/Chamoru Standard Time, the eighth and newest USA Time Zone, which is either 17 or 18 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time, depending on the Daylight Savings Time (which we in the Pacific do not utilize because it is always sunny here!). The other U.S. Time Zones are: Atlantic Standard Time, Eastern Standard Time, Central Standard Time, Mountain Standard Time, Pacific Standard Time, Aleutian-Hawaiian Standard Time, and Samoan-Midway Standard Time. By jet, Saipan is approximately three hours due East of Manila or approximately four hours due South of Tokyo or eight hours due West of Honolulu, and the size of Manhattan (approximately 4 miles x 13 miles).
I celebrate all life and practice social justice every day while actively supporting the eradication of poverty and the global promotion of education and health. I currently have five dogs, who keep me humble: Lula the Rottweiler, Boris the Great Dane-German Shepherd, Tater, the Brindle Pit Bull, Sasha, the Australian Cattle Dog-Golden Retriever, and Max, the Border Terrier; all of these canines are formerly-abused rescue animals who have been loved back to health. I share my home also with a cockatiel, Freud, who keeps me gentle; with my acrobatic Senegal Parrot, Bing Bing, who keeps me brave; and with my Human Partner of 19 years, who keeps me honest. My stallion, Mogo, who helps me remain authentic, stays at a ranch in the North of Saipan.
My earliest beginnings were in New York City, and I have also lived in Massachusetts, Northern and Southern California, Upstate NY, Puerto Rico, and France. I attended The Fleming School/Ecole Francaise, which shut its doors years ago: if you were my classmate there, and found me here, please do drop a line. I very much enjoy travelling because I believe in directly observing and drawing my own conclusions; because meeting people gives me satisfaction; and because I can find beauty and stories to trade virtually anywhere. I participate in eBay for many of the same reasons that I like my trips: it puts me in touch with interesting folks far from and sometimes different than myself; because it permits me to be genuine about how I live and what I need -challenging me to divest my space of non-essential belongings - and because it compels me to communicate clearly and to interact fairly as a matter of principle to engage Buyers who are perfect for my items (I am not a very convincing salesperson).
Thank you for looking at my items, and for reading this: I am at DrLauraPost@yahoo.com and would love to hear from you.
