Hello. I have been playing guitar since I was 15, and been an audiophile since I could afford a decent stereo. I guess at this point I have taken another hobby to it's extreme. When I finally realized I had enough 12AX7's for 10 lifetimes, I figured I had better start sharing some with others. So here it is--some of the things I enjoy.
First Stereo
I can still remember my dad shopping for his stereo to this day when I was around 9 years old back in 1961. He made many trips and studied brochures very carefully, and sought advice from his electrical engineering friend. He settled upon an HH Scott 296 Stereomaster, a Sherwood S-2200 tuner, a David Bogen DO-30 mono center channel amp with a pair of KLH 6's and an Electrovoice center channel speaker. I still have the amps and the tuner. That Scott 296 with it's original RCA 7581A's and full compliment of Telefunken preamp tubes still sounds sweet 41 years later. The Bogen with it's original pair of Genelex KT-66's is no slouch either.
