My husband & I have been married five years, and blessed with an active toddler daughter. I breastfeed, cloth diaper my baby, and wear her in a sling. We use gentle discipline. Guess you could call that "Attachment Parenting" (the new en vogue term,) but really, we're just doing what comes natural. We have been adopted by a sweet and spoiled great dane. I'm active in my church. I really enjoy my job as a special education teacher (teaching preschoolers with disabilities,) and time at home with my family.
When I have a spare minute, I like to sew baby carriers. My favorite is the ring sling. It's exciting to take a piece of ordinary fabric and turn it into an extraordinary baby carrier. I love creating ring slings with brocade, because it makes such a dramatic statement. Each one is a wearable work of art, and makes baby look like the treasure he or she is. I like to use other fabrics too, and tend to look for unique fabric patterns and textures. I always use quality fabrics & threads in making my slings, and avoid fabrics that will not stand to the stress of holding a baby well. I carefully make each sling as if it were to be used with my own daughter.
Lately, I have been selling most of my slings locally to many happy mamas (Hampton Roads area, Virginia) & I haven't had time to list them here. Ebay is also getting quite expensive as far as seller fees & it's making me unmotivated to sell here. If you would like for me to create something special for you, let me know and I will do my best to create a personalized item listing. Please feel free to look at my personal web page (link is below.)
