Hello Everyone! Welcome to my About Me Page. My name is Earlene Zickefoose and I am here to let you know a little more about me and my work!

 
 I have been a High School art teacher for 10 years.   I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, then went back to school to get my teaching certificate and work on my masters degree.  I love teaching,  - it is a very eye opening experience.  You get to know all sorts of people, and it's always interesting to see what happens to my students after they graduate!  One of the special perks of my job is that I have the summers to work on my art.
 
    
 

 Some of my favorite things are painting and drawing, both creating and appreciating.  I have won numerous awards and competitions with  my work.  I guess you could say my style is Realism, but it is a kind of romantic, or idealistic realism.  

I can't decide which I like to do best, paint or draw.  I love them both!  Georgia O'Keefe is one of my favorite artists and inspired me to paint large flowers.  I also enjoy painting and drawing people. I love to experiment with different media, surfaces and techniques.  The flowers I have listed on ebay are done with acrylic paint on plywood.  I love the texture of the wood.  My drawings may be done on paper, illustration board or matt board.  I also like to mix media.  Sometimes I may collage different types of paper onto the surface, or add splashes of water color before I begin to draw.  And then there is pencil.  Many of my portraits are done with pencil, plain and simple, but very elegant!
 
I am pretty new to ebay, but have recently listed two of my paintings.  One of them is an acrylic painting of a violet bearded iris, the other is a closeup of a rose.  I hope you will visit my listings and that you will like my work!
