What Is Powerslam Productions? Our leader, The Great and Powerful "Dark Angel" has been involved with Pro Wrestling and Comic-Book Pop Culture since holding a comicon in Norfolk Va, July 29th and 30th 1972,entitled Fan Con '72, with guests like Kelly Freas, Wally Wood and SF writer Murray ( Will F. Jenkins) Lienster among others. Eventually heading to NYC to assit Marvel artist Rich Buckler in 1975. Working without credit on titles like Fantastic Four and Deathlok, plus covers and splashes for Marvel's British department. It's not uncommon to see us listing original art from comics and commisions, on Ebay. Angel recieved his first credit for DC's Kobra #4 in 1976, before chucking NYC to head west, where in 1978 he aquired the merchindising rights to The Space Giants, publishing what is debated to be the 1st indepedent comic with an adaptation of the origin and 1st four episodes, and photos of all the main characters, to establish the trademark with the 1st US Copyright filed June 18th 1979 (File # VA-27-210). The 80's brought the 1st appearance of Dark Angel, in comic books and TV, as Angel began a pro wrestling career, even dragging in one time pal Denys (DC's The Question, WB's Static Shock) Cowan, who not only was an established comic artist, but enventually ended up in Hollywood, producing cartoons for National TV networks. The Dark Angel gained a name on the independent wrestling circut working with industry legends, while also obtaining footage and rights to Pro-Wrestling stars like, Dick The Bruiser, Ox Baker, A young Scott ( Big Papa Pump) Stiener, Don Kent and others! He turned the time he spent on the Bruiser Bedlam TV show into a vehicle, leaving to create the Powerslam TV show, with help of friend Michael Patterson and a guiding hand from producer Erik Molberg . Only to return to what was left of the WWA in '91 after striking a "special" deal with Dick the Bruiser himself! The rest is future history! He's been semi-retired from the ring since 2000, and now spends time listing Pop Culture collectibles on Ebay, using THAT vinue for marketing his own Powerslam wrestling DVDs while trying to maintain the Powerslam Collectibles website, and enjoying the people we get to meet & work with on Ebay.
