A little bit about edward collars: Each collar is hand crafted on an industrial strength machine and top-of-the-line thread by Coats & Clark. For many collars with "extras," the small bits are hand-sewn and top stitched by hand. Edward collars include only the best materials, 100% cotton prints, heavy canvas and the finest imported jacquards. The hardware is your choice of excellent nickel plated, welded steel (silver) or heavy duty solid brass (gold), in widths of 1", 1.5" or 2". All collars without liners are made on heavy flat nylon (guaranteed not to snag or rip), while collars with layers and/or liners are put on polypropylene. They are square-X stitched twice for durability and long lasting stress points.
I am the daughter of a professional seamstress (& well on the road to becoming one myself) and have a little over six years experience in sewing, two of which include dog collar crafting. Many of the tips and tricks that I learned from my mother for clothes are used in each one of my collars -- these methods make things last longer and stand up to more wear and tear. When each collar is made, special care is taken to perform each step that allows it to be the type of high quality collar that I am proud of (and somewhat famous for).
Edward collars is a business in its sixth month of running and can already boast hundreds of pre-made collars sewn, and well over fifty original, custom collars. The ideas for collars come from the customer just as much as they come from me. Each custom order is created -- from the initial inquiry, design and consultation to touch-ups and final production -- on an individual basis. Input is valued above all and if there is any improvement to be made, it can and will be done. Although it's based out of Florida, edward collars can be shipped anywhere in the world.
For the greys... Each year, my goal is to donate the cost of one greyhound adoption & vetting to a local group, through the profits of my collars. I have wanted a retired racing greyhound since I was 8 years old and while I may not be able to have one at the moment, I can certainly help them out.
