About the Art
The artistic images you see are not painted, they are
hand-formed
using an ancient technique called Millefiori, which dates back to
Mesopotamian times. These images are a mosaic of different colors and
shapes, which have been formed and layered upon each other. Every line
and detail in each image has been meticulously created by hand. This
creates an image that travels throughout each piece, from the obverse
to the reverse.
About the Artist
Eggplant
Jewelry has been in the business of
making and selling artisan jewelry and functional art in Arizona since
1993.
Making beads from polymer clay and silver precious metal clay, I
create custom jewelry using beads of my own design, as well as
premium quality Austrian crystal, glass, gemstones, precious metals,
and natural materials. As a master artisan in polymer clay, my
work is nationally recognized and acclaimed. These creations can be seen
in galleries, magazines, books, and catalogs. A few examples of my
beadwork can be seen at The Museum Shop at the Art Institute of Chicago, (she creates the face beads in these pieces). I have
also shared my love for jewelry making by teaching the art to others.
If you wish to
have a
special piece made for someone, even for yourself, I would be
happy to create a one-of-kind design for you. I can even incorporate
a treasured momento into a piece of wearable art. Please contact us for
further information.
