~ RECORD GRADING CHART ~

This is my grading chart for records which closely
resembles the Goldmine grading system.

45 & LP Grading Chart

NM (Near Mint) A nearly perfect record. No marks and
sometimes never played. The picture sleeve or LP jacket will
show no marks and almost invisible ring wear.

VG++ (Very Good++) Record will show some very light scuffs or scratches
which should not be audible when played. The picture sleeve or LP jacket will
show some ring wear and lightly turned up corners or slight seam splits.

VG+ (Very Good+) Record will show more scratches and scuffs than a VG++
rating. It will play with some audible noise from these marks. Labels
may be marred or have or stickers (or their residue) attached.
The same will be true of the picture sleeve or LP jacket.

VG (Very Good) Record will be well worn and audible noise
will be more noticeable from scratches and scuffs.

PG (Play Graded) Records are play graded if suspect: Visual scratches,
scuffs, nicks or storage marks are present that may affect play.

Vinyl Pressing Record is made with a better grade of vinyl, less
susceptible to cue burn and a more flexible plastic.

Styrene Pressing Record is made from a more brittle lighter type
vinyl, more susceptible to cue burn and not as flexible.
