Thanks for looking in, this is a short story about my shop , Jordans  : who I am and how I came to be here.

There's just  myself, Joe. I've been a fanatic about antiques for over 30 years. This field encompasses everything I love most; manual skill, artistry, design , social and economic history plus an intangible link to the past.  I'm currently studying gemmology  to add to my armoury.

The internet has opened up the world of collecting dramatically, so when  you find something good there's a good chance a whole load of others have too. My tip is to watch the 'buy it nows'  - due to the work involved, antiques are often under researched, or simply not recognised for what they are. Also watch out for trends and undervalued items that are well made and designed, my first pieces of Clarice Cliff came from somebody who thought they were gawdy and not in keeping with the decor.
