Who We Are
PAWS (Performing Animal Welfare Society) is comprised of three exotic animal sanctuaies in California. We are home to over 100 animals including lions, tigers and elephants! Visit us at the PAWS Web site today! PAWS is the only animal welfare society dedicated to the rescue of performing and exotic animals from cruel confinement and performances of pain. Among our greatest concerns are the treatment of animals in circuses, animal acts, television and movies, as well as the problem of excess captive breeding, inadequate standards for captive wildlife and the exotic animal trade.
Donations help us pay for veterinary care, food, supplies and ongoing construction projects to help house elephants, bears, tigers and other animals that would have no place else to go. Our current construction projects include habitat and barns for bull elephants. If you would like to see our current elephant habitats please visit our website and go to the "webcams" page. Celebrity Auctions
PAWS is supported by celebrities who occasionally donate items for auction. We list these items to raise funds to support the animals at PAWS. Many celebrities have donated to our cause including actresses Kim Basinger and Amanda Blake, who was Miss Kitty in Gunsmoke. We also receive donations from individuals who simply wish to help us fundraise for our sanctuaries and we are very grateful for these donations.
