After many months of learning and experimenting I recently completed my very first sculpture and have a couple of others on the way!

My background is that I am a self-taught artist, that has been drawing since I could hold a crayon and realized a line came out of it. LOL.

I did a bit of sculpting in traditional clays as a teenager in high school, but stopped due to not having a kiln or space to sculpt large pieces in.

Art waned in my life for many reasons, though it was always in me wanting to get out, but was like I forgot how to channel it and let it flow.

Fast forward to last year and for the first time in a very long time, I felt the familiar flutterings of creativity bubbling to the surface. Though I am not yet quite "there" yet ... I am well on my way I think.

I'd had a life-long love affair with myth and legend, nature and fantasy. I've walked in both the lighter side of life and the darker realms, and have found a good balance betwixt the two.

Right now I'm doing more traditional "pretty elves, fairies, and mermaids", mostly because I am still learning this medium and it's easy to produce something that is somewhat second-nature. I have no doubt that as I improve my skills and speed, I will start peeling away my layers and look for the darker or deeper themes that lies underneath all of us, and around us.

But for now, I'm content to play and just enjoy creating my work, and allow myself to develop as I will.
