We live in
a log cabin, built a log barn and guest house to match, and a log hen house which is appropriately named
"THE EGG FACTORY"
~Our farm
is known as the~
"DOUBLE
B FARM & ANIMAL SANCTUARY"
A one- way
road in for rescued animals which
now live out their years in total happiness, bliss and contentment-
the fear of abuse fading with the passing of time.
We have our own cats, dogs, horses, alpaca, goats, Scottish Highlander bovine,
peacocks, ducks,
geese, doves, pigeons and chickens-
and have rescued just as many, some with heart-wrenching stories.
The short
version is we love life in the country, we love animals,
enjoy their company
and feel good about taking a hand
in our own sustenance.
One of
these days when I have a moment,
I will write and illustrate a children's book
about all our animals and their amazing stories, antics and the many life's lessons
they've taught us.
One of the especially good lessons passed on to us from our border collies comes to mind -
- never bite when a growl will do....
Our children grew up, married, some with
children of their own.
They visit often.
We love our country family gatherings, hayrides, campfires and picnics.
Below is a picture of our guest house completed in October 2005.
Now when our own home overflows, the guest house will be right next door!
When the kids aren't staying there, the cabin magically turns into a Bed & Breakfast.
Since we live in the Wild & Wonderful State of West Virginia,
the cabin is landscaped with foliage native to our State.
We are now offering Equine / Horse Lodging along with our B&B for those folks
traveling with horses. Please email me(elisabethsbarnshoppe@yahoo.com) or call (304 288-3838)
for rates or for a brochure. Box stalls, private paddocks, hay, "city"
water, outdoor ring, round pen, trail rides and instructor available if needed. Your horses will not
want to leave.

We make our own hay and grow our own
produce.
We have two shops at the farm-
which supplement the cost of "filling the feed bins"-
Produces
fresh, free-range chicken & duck eggs
in colors specific to everyday,
special and rare breeds. Gift baskets are popular
locally and include hand-painted eggs in a wooden basket
filled with fresh hay and a warm loaf of farm-baked bread.
The barn shoppe specializes in quality 100%
cotton designer fabrics for quilting, sewing & crafts from major manufacturers -
Marcus Bros, Northcott, In the Beginning Fabrics, Timeless Treasures, Michael Miller, Mary
Engelbreit, SSI, Kaufman & more- as well as sewing notions and greeting cards for the
needle arts.
We take pride in that our merchandise and fabrics are of the highest quality.
All new fabric collections arriving
routinely as they become available from the manufacturer. Most of our unique fabric
collections cannot be found in the giant retail chains. We keep our shipping costs to our
customers as low as possible.
