Hi! My name is Vikki. Here's a little about who I am and how I began making beaded jewelry ;o)
I have been married for 20 years to my high school sweetheart and I am a very proud mother of 5 beautiful children, four boys and one girl. I have been a stay-at-home mom for almost 14 years. Staying home has been a blessing for me and my family, but after giving so many years to care for my family and doing every job a mother can do outside of mothering, I felt I needed to give a little time to myself.
I have always had an artistic and crafty side! I started making decor for my first home when I was about 20 along with the help of my mom. When I look back at our decor today, I realize I was drawn to beaded items even way back then. About 2 years ago, I was entering our church and noticed our assistant director was wearing a gorgeous beaded lanyard and became very interested in learning more about them. One night, my daughter, Emmie and I went on eBay and placed our first bid on a purple lanyard and won. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars later, after purchasing about a kazoodle lanyards between four eBay sellers, I finally said to myself, "I can do this!" My first items were earrings and I learned how to do those through a single Internet how-to video! Once I learned how to make earrings, I began making lanyards and later passed those off to my sister's work. Little did I know what was to come next after all those women got their hands on my lanyards. The gals at her work were so impressed, they started asking for special orders, mostly necklaces instead of lanyards followed by bookmarks, iPod, cell and key ring dangles. Over the course of about a year, my little so-called business became bigger and the more special orders I received, the more beads I bought ;0) I can remember being up until 4 o'clock in the morning for a solid month as this is how busy they kept me. No regrets, of course. It was then when my true inspiration and confidence began along with my mom's boost here and there. Thank you all for all of your help and encouragement.
Special note to all of my customers...thank you so much for taking the time to view and purchase my items. If it were not for you I would not be here enjoying every item I create. My inspiration comes from you all the most ;O)
Blessings to all,
Vikki
