Emergency Preparedness Outfitters was started in 2001was100% operated by a Disabled American Veteran as mechanism for supporting community crisis preparedness and recovery operations. Our eBay story started in 2001 when the Towers fell just a short distance away and really got going after Hurricane Katrina, which shook us out of our 9-11 stupor. Now we offer almost exclusively Emergency Preparedness survival gear and clothing. Katrina made us very aware of the sheer inability for any of the Federal, State, or Local Government to help us with any expedited assistance. We realized that we had to be responsible for our own community, self protection and survival for a period of time. We also have a strong commitment to those who serve in our armed forces abroad and support organization such as the Red Cross and the Adopt A Platoon program. EPOutfitters has continually grown since the beginning and is still run 100% by Veterans. We believe it is because of our core business philosophy of excellent customer service and the time we take to help people develop their own Crisis Preparedness Plans through advise and maintaining an Information Hub and Blog.

EP Outfitters is located in Patchogue, New York on Long Island. With a population approximately 8 million people and located 80 miles from NYC, only 3 ways off the Island, evacuation is not an option. Hurricanes and Terrorism are our two biggest concerns that we plan for. We operate out of a Storefront located on Route 112 that has rows and shelves stocked to the ceiling with military surplus, several lines of authentic military specification replica items, as well as items for Crisis Preparedness.We offer our customers high quality clothing and gear for their military and civilian lives and make several shipments a month to a platoon we have adopted in the war zone.

EPOutfitters currently has adopted a platoon of 29 Army Recon/Snipers serving in the mountains of Afghanistan. We will continue to support them until they come home. This is our fifth platoon in the last two years we have helped to support through the Adopt A Platoon organization.
