My name is Scotty Mitchell and I build custom made fishing rods. I started building rods a few years ago and started selling on ebay November 2004. I use the finest components availble to build my rods. I learned to build rods from one of the best builder in the business today. For me, rod building isn't just a hobby, It's a way of life. I fish and hunt as much as I can and want to use the best equipment available.

The "custom" in custom built comes from the way I build my rods. When I build a rod, I find the "spine". The spine is the point along the length of the blank where it wants to bend naturally.  I align all the components along the spine so when you fight a fish the rod bends the way it's suppose to. Rods built this way also cast better. Factories that mass produce rods don't take the time or expense to build rods like this, no matter how much you pay for them. Once you use one of my custom rods, you won't go back to factory built rods.

A lot of custom rod builders will build all types of rods, but specialize in one or two types of rods. For me my specialty is ice fishing rods. I build ice rods the same way I build all my other rods. I use the same high quality components. I spend most of my fishing time on the ice, so I'm constantly experimenting with different materials and components to make the best ice fishing rods possible.
