It's me, Barbie! Mom, Grandma & seamstress extroidenaire!
Thanks so much for visiting FABRICPLAY, and for taking the time to find out more about who is behind the name. FABRICPLAY was born just a short time ago, but I have been sewing professionally for over 30 years. I started out in my basement as a custom decorating studio. I trained under several professionals to learn the art of sewing, especially custom window treatments. But, I've always sewed, from about the age of 12. After my kids were a bit older, I purchased a building with my sister (who also sells on eBay...ARTSIE*GIRLS) and we created The Napery Ltd., a custom design stuido. After over 15 years going to work every day, we decided it was time to retire!! Scary, but a dream come true.
Now, I work part-time because I WANT to at a local upscale fabric botique and I sew for fun! (And also take care of the most wonderful grandson in the WORLD, Stoney. Soon, Stoney is getting a baby sister Mackenzie! We are so excited; you'll probably see baby things popping up in FABRICPLAY as I find wonderfully yummy creations for little girls!).
My daughter and son-in-law turned me onto eBay about a year ago. They are Power-Sellers and have been selling my treasures on their site, DREAM-ADVENTURES. But, I figured I'd give it a whirl and give you out there the chance to visit a site that is devoted to hand-made works of art alone.

What wonderful treasures may I find?
I am SO interested in the new approach to sewing, the new trends and learning everything I can. I am a teacher at the fabric studio and have trained extensively on the computerized sewing machines. How amazing technology is!
From my home studio I seem most inspried to sew clothing and clever pillows. It matches my passion for vintage linens and these shabby little wonders put my "finds" to great use!. I'll also be adding custom embroidered shirts and children's clothing soon....FABRICPLAY will be constantly changing but always be offering the whimsical fabric creations I adore.
My hubby retires this year, so life will be changing around our Michigan home........but somehow I don't see Gary sewing!
